From Colombo
to Dubai

I'm Thilina Dilshan, a Sri Lankan entrepreneur based in Dubai, UAE. I grew up in Colombo and moved to the UAE about five years ago with one clear goal: to build something meaningful in digital marketing.

Dubai gave me access to some of the world's most ambitious businesses — brands that needed more than generic marketing. They needed strategy, AI, and genuine results. That's where SocialIgnit was born — first as a consultancy, then as a full AI-powered marketing platform serving clients across Dubai, the GCC, and Sri Lanka.

Outside the office, I spend my mornings studying Gold and NASDAQ charts, my weekends on the karting track at Dubai Autodrome, and my evenings chasing hot laps on iRacing. Speed, precision, and pattern recognition — the same things that make a good racer make a good trader and marketer.

Gold & NASDAQ Price Action Trader

Trading is more than a side pursuit for me — it's a discipline. I trade Gold (XAU/USD) and the NASDAQ 100 (NAS100) using pure price action: market structure, supply and demand zones, key levels, and clean risk management. My primary platform is MetaTrader 5 (MT5), where I also run algorithmic strategies built around H1 breakout patterns. I approach every trade like a calculated risk, not a gamble.

Speed has always been my release valve. I race karts at Dubai Autodrome / Dubai Kartdrome, and when I'm not on track I'm on the sim — iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione are my go-to platforms. Formula 1 is a passion I've followed for years: the engineering, the strategy, the margins. Motorsport taught me that thousandths of a second and fractional risk adjustments are everything — a lesson that transfers directly to trading and business.

I trade Gold (XAU/USD) and the NASDAQ 100 (NAS100) using price action — no indicators cluttering the chart, just structure, key levels, and supply/demand zones.

My platform of choice is MetaTrader 5 (MT5). I've also built algorithmic trading strategies for the NAS100 — breakout-based Expert Advisors that execute trades with defined risk parameters so emotion never enters the equation.

The discipline I've built through trading — patience, risk management, cutting losses fast — is the same discipline I apply to running SocialIgnit and on the karting track.

Motorsport isn't a hobby for me — it's a way of thinking. When you're in a kart at Dubai Autodrome, every decision happens in tenths of a second. You learn to be precise, calm under pressure, and honest about your mistakes.

On the sim side, iRacing keeps my racecraft sharp between track days. I also run Assetto Corsa Competizione for GT-spec driving — the physics model is outstanding and it genuinely translates to real car feel.

Formula 1 is the sport I grew up watching and never stopped. The engineering margins, the tyre games, the risk management at 320 km/h — it's the most sophisticated sport on earth, and I'm completely here for it.
